Dear Darling,
Healing isn’t linear.
I know how frustrating it is—
You think you’re finally past it, finally feeling better…
And then, out of nowhere, you’re back in it again.
The symptoms return.
The emotions resurface.
I’ve been doing my vertigo exercises only to be back under observation for a possible stroke this past weekend. Thank God it wasn’t.
I was frustrated - laying in the hospital for hours on end - taking continuous tests, and hungry.
And it’s so easy to wonder… Was any of that progress even real? I mean, I was beginning to feel better.
But this is the message I’m passing on to you, darling—
You are not back at the beginning.
Healing doesn’t move in a straight line.
It loops. It dips. It circles back—
Not to punish you, but to refine you.
You are not failing.
You are integrating.
Right now, take a deep breath in (go ahead, deep breath in)… and now let it go. Then, if it feels good, gently sway side to side.
Let your body remind you—
Even when you go back, you’re still in motion.
Even when old wounds resurface,
You’re meeting them as a new version of you.
Healing isn’t about never feeling pain again.
It’s about learning to hold yourself through it.
So, the next time it feels like you’ve taken a step back,
Please remember—you’re not starting over.
Know that you are still moving forward, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
With love,
Vee
